Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer screenings are one of the main reasons why regular oral examinations are important. One of the serious illnesses that need to be detected as early as possible is oral cancer because early detection increases the chances of successful treatment.

Dental professionals conduct oral cancer screenings by examining your mouth to look for any sores or discoloured tissue. If you are feeling some discomfort in your mouth and throat and if you feel irregular lumps on both sides of your neck, it is recommended that you visit the dentist immediately.

If you are someone who smokes or uses other types of tobacco products, it is advised that you undergo at least two oral screenings per year and for non-smokers, at least once a year.
